One of our favourite things is compote made with any fruit and a little sugar with a dash of water. Place in a saucepan and simmer until softened on low. You can add vanilla, cinnamon or whatever you like to add a little extra flavour, really. This one in the photos is plum, tastes amazing by itself, with yoghurt for a healthy breakfast and even as a posh dessert served with ice cream in a martini glass.i
You can also use in a pie, a crumble and compote makes a great fool just by adding cream and mixing in. The possibilities are endless. Useful tip for not wasting produce.
