Style Agenda – Trending now!
Soon we will be moving into a new season! Last week I spent a day at the shops looking at the new trends. Before I add another thing to my closet I want to see if I have anything that would work for the new season.
First off, 2014’s colour of the year is Radiant Orchid, an exotic member of the purple family. If you have anything in this hue from lilac to purple pull it out.
You can still “Think Pink” too! As-fun-takes-on classics continues, I have seen classic watches with bright faces and straps in pink, emerald green, magenta and navy from Anne Klein, at great prices too! (Sigh! I just changed my watch strap from bright red to black.)
Jewelry designers have added ivory and citrus yellow elements to gold-toned jewelry.
Starfish themed jewelry is again popular this time with Kate Spade.
Pearls have a contemporary look with gold ropes and dangling fringes. Even the classic pieces have added embellishments. An easy way to get this look is to layer and mix pearls with chains of all sizes. Take a look at Stella & Dot, Betsey Johnson and above this gorgeous necklace by Alexis Bittar.
Bags are supposed to be smaller, at least on the runways, although the shops have all sizes. One way to use this trend is to sport a separate tote with the necessary items and have a small bag inside to pull out and use as needed.
For shoes, it seems the new pointy toed flats or any shoes with colour are the way to go.
I saw some art-inspired scarves so I am going to pull out my Van Gogh “irises” scarf.
Whatever the designers say, whatever is trending, real style never goes out of fashion!
