Something for Nothing – Stamp Boxes

To decoupage is to decorate an item by adhering paper and sometimes adding painted effects such as gilding. Here I have used an old chocolate box to house office supplies and a container to use as pen holder and have simply glued a selection of stamps on to the boxes and then varnish, or you can use a special shiny glaze that can be purchased at craft or art shops.
I love stamps, so interesting and very appealing like maps. I have always collected them and use them to decoupage or Japanning as it was once known, this was considered an art and an item was varnished up to 50 times to create a special look and feel.
