Great Eggspectations! How to tell if your eggs are fresh

We usually use eggs within a few days of buying them but for some reason we had not used any, so I did the egg test. Simply take a bowl, and fill with cold water. Place a egg into the water and if it sinks to the bottom and stays there, it is fresh. Sinking, and floating at an angle, it is more than a week old. Sinking and then hovers on its end, it is about two weeks old. If it floats, then it is too old. The egg should be thrown away.
