Plants For Free – Perennial Plant Exchange

When I lived in Ottawa Ontario, I used to go to a terrific plant exchange at the Glebe Community Center that was held at the end of May. I learnt a lot from those wonderful woman and fellow gardeners and saved money while indulging my hobby. I have just started to dig up and divide my perennials so I can replant or exchange for new plants. Here are some guidelines if you want to try a plant exchange in your garden at a local park or community center. (You may have to get permission first).
Email your friends, advertise on a fb page or free site and/or post flyers to advertise event date and time.
Ask all participants to label plants clearly for identification.
The exchange can work as follows:
People bring their plants and exchange for tickets.
The plant exchange takes place with tickets being exchanged for plants.
If there are any plants left they could donated or given away, the choice would be yours.
