Ideas Worth $aving – Using What You Have -Transplant Pots

I have always liked using what I have instead of buying something and this is an easy way to save time & money. If you plant from seed or use cuttings to transplant later in the year, then making these single transplanting pots from something that we all have, toilet roll tubes or paper towel rolls is very handy. You can cut to the height you want, usually in half for TRs or four for paper rolls. Wrap your rolls with aluminum foil to prevent rolls from disintegrating when wet. Stand the tube pots on waterproof trays, I find the plastic boxes that salad and mushrooms are packaged in are perfect as you can recycle them at any time. Place your soil mix then add the seeds or seedlings to each tube. When it’s time to transplant in the garden, remove the foil, (clean and save foil for next batch) and plant the tube pots.
