Use your favourite fresh berries – strawberry, raspberry or blueberry to make a lovely liqueur that is ready in 6 weeks. Simply take 1/2 liter of vodka and 2 cups of sugar or less according to taste and place in a large mason jar making sure to stir well until sugar has dissolved. Add a quart or so of your hulled, washed, and well dried fruit. Combine so that vodka sugar mix coats all fruit. Let it stand for 6 weeks stirring daily. Drain off fruit and discard and you will be left with a fruity liqueur that can be served at room temperature, on ice, added to cocktails, served on top of ice cream and added to fruit salad.
