The most popular choice in my house is the turkey pot pie, I buy the ready-made puff pastry, my favourite in Canada is President’s Choice puff pastry, as it is made with butter.
Here are a couple of ways to serve it.
Once you have portioned up the remainder of the turkey take the amount wanted for your pie.
TURKEY & MUSHROOM POT PIE WITH A BECHAMEL SAUCE
BUTTER A PIE DISH.
ADD TURKEY CUT IN SMALL BITE SIZE PIECES.
ADD ANY ADDITIONAL VEGETABLES SUCH AS PEAS
MAKE A BECHAMEL SAUCE USING BUTTER, FLOUR, & MILK.
ADD TO THE TURKEY AND MUSHROOM MIXTURE AND STIR TO COAT
ADD AN EGG CUP OR TWO TO SUPPORT PASTRY.
UNTIL NEEDED – ROLL OUT PUFF PASTRY. LAYOVER PASTRY ON TOP OF MIXTURE & SLASH PASTRY IN A COUPLE OF PLACES TO LET STEAM ESCAPE.
No time – instead of making a bechamel sauce, just add a tin (or two) of chicken, mushroom or celery soup instead.
COOK ACCORDING TO PUFF PASTRY INSTRUCTIONS USUALLY 425%
Serve with salad or a vegetable.
No puff pastry – heat the turkey mixture through and serve over rice.
