I have written about “Situational Disorder” which is my term for things getting out of control, which happens to all people from time to time because of large time-consuming projects that bog them down, causing disruption, which in turn leads to becoming backlogged. It simply happens even when you have plans. In my case, 2016 was deemed to be “The Year of the House”  as after 6 years of living here and renovating we wanted to finish all the exterior painting, facia, & soffit as well as redo our steps.  Well, we did hire someone to paint the exterior as we could not do it ourselves but we thought we would breeze through the painting of the dining room, hallway, and sitting rooms. The dining room done earlier this year was a breeze. So when the weather became super hot we decided to leave it until it cooled down.It did not. We really could not do it when guests arrived in September and then after they left, I fell ill and then when I was better, my husband succumbed to a nasty virus. Once well, we had to get it done and it proved a much bigger job. We are just now finishing off cleaning up and getting ready to receive guests arriving on the 18th December for Christmas.

Note: We still have to have work done outside and there is still some painting in the back hallway and basement…
