Collections & Fab Finds – White is Right

Take a look at most design magazines and you will find pictures of same themed items on a coffee table or shelf as a design statement, here I have displayed a collection of old milk glass and  have mixed it up with clear glass for a variation on this theme, on top of a china cabinet. An ideal place for storage on display! It is easy to access and use, for any holiday ie, Canada Day with red flowers, or  use tea lights, real or battery operated in the vases in the winter for a soft warm glow and you can switch it up for any holiday by just getting creative.

Style Organization Collects – Switch Plates and Plug Covers

Matching Set

When we moved in there was only plastic switchplates and covers in the house, and I do like to collect the old style plates for my plug outlets and light switches which compliment the rooms. Here are my latest finds.

Styled Organization “High & Low” – Occasional Seating & Tables

A popular feature in magazines is the “High & Low” where you find similar items styled in two photographs and you are supposed to guess which is the high price and which is the low.  I found these two cute stools to use additional seating and as occasional tables topped with a tray or two. They were new in a retail store and at a ridiculously inexpensive price, so I snapped them up. This is my “Low”
I found this from a site called Houzz which was featured in the National Post – Similar colours for my “High”

The Bunny Chow – A Fab Find

I recently went to Durban, South Africa and I found something really different that unbelievably has not yet been exported to other countries. It would be a hit in the U.K as they really love their curries and I could see it being served out of a trendy food truck in North America simply called “The Bunny Chow”. Think of the great graphics that this could inspire.

Supposedly created in Durban by an Indian restaurant. The bunny chow was half a loaf of bread with the soft insides scooped-out. Curry is then ladled into the hollow and  and the scooped out filling caps the curry serving as a takeaway and container in one. Brilliant! Just use your favourite curry recipe!
